I would go with Wordpress as its widely supported, included with the Fantastico 1 click installer and has many themes and plugins available for it. Its also very easy to integrate Adsense into a Wordpress blog.

Content

When it comes to making money with blogging, the key really is content. Quality content will attract visitors to your site and if you create lots of quality content, coupled with good marketing practices you could make lots of money. I recommend writing at least 1 post per day.
